OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Job Description

 OFFICE HOURS: Monday – Thursday, Part time, 16 hours per week from 9am to 1pm daily (negotiable)

PAY:  $13-$16 an hour.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A follower of Jesus Christ and a member or open to become a regular attender of Sheldon Church of Christ.

  2. Strong computer skills with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs and familiarity with Microsoft Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

  3. Experience with electronic file storage and familiarity with cloud storage systems such as Google Drive or Drop Box.

  4. Familiarity with or a willingness to learn editing of Sheldon Church of Christ website, YouTube and social media.

  5. Proficiency in the use of standard office tools (computer and keyboard, phone system, multi-function copier, etc.)

  6. Strong organizational skills.

  7. Have excellent command of English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.


PURPOSE OF POSITION: 
Primary function is to serve and minister as the communication hub of the church. This person reports directly to the Pastor and will work with him to improve incoming and outgoing communications and provide administrative assistance to the church. .
 
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  1. Receptionist - Telephone present positive, warm image; screen calls and take messages.

  2. Order and inventory supplies and equipment.

  3. Organize and maintain an updated church calendar, coordinating campus events with custodian. –

  4. Pick up, distribute and disseminate all mail and correspondence.

  5. Check and answer email and phone calls in a timely manner.

  6. Maintain prayer chain list and other church email lists and use them to send prayer chain messages and documents out in a timely manner.

  7. Prepare and print all documents needed for Sunday worship including bulletins, leader guides, and PowerPoint presentations.

  8. Keep accurate membership records.

  9. Assist with the preparation of Annual Reports and prepare the Annual Report Booklet.

  10. Attend staff meetings

  11. Act as Church Board Secretary, including all preparing all documents for meeting.

  12. Maintain communications with all ministry teams.

  13. Routine filing of paperwork and digital documents.

  14. Oversee attendance records for the church.

  15. Maintain and up-date all standard forms, church brochures and ministry literature.

  16. Publish Monthly newsletter, maintain address list, and prepare labels for mailing.

  17. Organize and maintain the centralized storage of all church documents such as church board documents, personnel handbooks, etc.

  18. Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance of office equipment.
